Life insurance Quotes in Arizona
Looking for life insurance can be a daunting task, but it’s important to make sure you know exactly what you are looking for and then proceed with caution. Even when you find a life insurance company that offers a great quote, you need to make sure you are getting the coverage that you want and your family needs.
The variance of quotes will depend on whether you are seeking Term or Whole Life Insurance.
Term insurance is the least expensive, but the least effective as well. However it does have it’s benefits in that quotes will be low. Term insurance is only good for the amount of the policy and only for a specified period of time, usually 1 to 30 years. If the policy expires before the policy holder then there will be no payout. If you decide on Term insurance make sure you can convert to Whole Life down the road if you choose.
Whole Life will cost more but the benefits are far reaching. Over the term of the policy you will accrue interest and there is no term limits to the policy during the life of the policy holder. One caveat that you need to check with Whole Life is if the policy pays dividends and if you can borrow against the policy for a portion of the accrued cash. Other forms of Whole Life are, Universal, and Variable just to name a few. Make sure your chosen agent clearly states the company’s differences in policies when getting quotes. When you are comparing quotes make sure you compare Term to Term and Whole Life to Whole Life insurance. There will be a vast differences and might confuse the issue.
Aside from the quote, you also need to know your rights and the rights of the insurance company through Arizona law. When in doubt you can refer to the “State Insurance Code of Arizona.” This code regulates claims and provides certain provisions.
For example, there is a proviso under the Arizona statutes which states that you are allowed a 30 day grace period in order to bring your account current without penalty of cancellation. If at the end of that time you haven’t made payment then the provider can cancel your policy without any liability. Likewise the code also states that there is to be no delay in processing the benefit claim at time of death, unless all paperwork is not in order. Make sure that this has been taken care of as it is a distinct way for a provider to hold up payment to any beneficiaries.
Arizona does not regulate life insurance coverage the way other forms of insurance, such as health and auto, are regulated. As you shop for quotes make sure that you are covering all the bases. It might be a good idea to write everything down that needs to be covered before proceeding. A quote can be deceiving so make sure you come with questions and have the answers you want to hear already prepared.
No matter what type of coverage you decide on, everything must be understood before signing on the dotted line. It is not unheard of for a misunderstnding to occur due to not understanding the policy terms or misinformation has been given to the life insurance company.
